Don’t Let Your Website be Labeled “Not Secure” by Google

Aug 7, 2018 | HTTPS

On Tuesday, July 24, 2018 Google began labeling all non-encrypted sites as “Not Secure.” Users will also notice a red triangle in the URL of the site they are visiting. This is Google’s preferred security indicator for websites missing an SSL (Secure Socket Layer) Certificate.

This move – two years in the making – is a warning for users; one worth heeding. Any information sent or received on a non-encrypted HTTP site can be intercepted by a hacker. Someone could even modify the site before it gets to you!

Even if your website does not accept sensitive information, such as passwords or credit cards, HTTPS offers many advantages over HTTP. It will ensure Google labels your site as “Secure,” provide powerful new features, and allow users to feel confident when visiting your site.

Lifestyles Media Group, LLC., can install an SSL Certificate on your site. An SSL, or Secure Socket Layer, is the standard security technology for establishing an encrypted link between a server and a browser, ensuring all data remains private and integral.
